Patharchapuri

Location: A village under Nagari Gram Panchayat under Suri-I Block within  Suri Police Station Area.

Patharchapuri village under Nagari Gram Panchayat(Suri-I Block, Suri PS) is the precedence of  the Mohammedan Sufi Saint  Hazrat Data Meheboob Shah Wali famously known as "Data-Baba". He is reported to have died in 1892 CE. His tomb or Majar in the village is frequented by many visitors every year. A large Fair locally known as "Data Saheber Mela",  perhaps the largest in the region, is held in Patharchapuri village in the month of Chaitra (March-April ) every year commemorating his death anniversary. 

The majar has been built on a temple site.

Deep Babu - I have been to Patharchupri and Data Babar majar - both Hindus and Muslims flock to the mela and majar - though it is near Bakkreshwar and Tarapeeth, increasing muslim population in Birbhum district is making this place bigger day by day - It will be interesting to know further about it
